Jadon Sancho's agents are reportedly demanding a massive fee to facilitate a move to AS Roma. The Manchester United winger, 25, is expected to walk away from Old Trafford before the window slams shut, but the tug-of-war over his signature has taken a fiery twist.

ToggleWHAT HAPPENED?
Reports in Corriere dello Sport claim Roma have set their sights firmly on the out-of-favour United man, convinced he is the missing piece to elevate their squad. They have reportedly put together a tempting package worth €19 million (£16.5m/$22m) plus €5m in bonuses, alongside a whopping €6.5m-a-year wage packet for the winger.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
But the problem lies not with Roma's offer, it’s with Sancho’s representatives. His agents are said to be demanding a €10m (£9.5m/$11.6m) commission so steep that it has already scared away heavyweights Atletico Madrid and Juventus. Roma may be ready to push their financial boundaries, but this hurdle created by Sancho's agent could derail the move completely.

DID YOU KNOW?
While Roma keep pushing, Sancho himself is staying selective. Turkish giants Besiktas have made their interest known, hoping to swoop in if the winger remains without a club once the transfer window in the top five leagues shuts on September 1. Yet sources close to the player insist Turkey isn’t on the table, at least not now. Sancho is holding out for a team competing in Europe’s elite leagues, a move that would keep his name in the conversation for England’s 2026 World Cup squad.

WHAT NEXT ?
Since joining United, Sancho has managed 83 appearances, a figure that feels underwhelming considering the hype and price tag. Injuries, tactical shifts, and the fallout with Erik Ten Hag turned his dream into a nightmare, leaving both player and club desperate for a clean break. Roma’s board knows this isn’t a straightforward deal, and it could only be thrashed out if "United agree to a substantial severance package" helping them reach the €10m figure.Â
